So Annette and I had the same thought when we saw my Ham radio call sign. We both thought it looked Russian. I guess great minds think alike. So of course I had to find a Russian block font to see how it really looks.

Yup, pretty much.

i can't stand fake russian anymore.. it's entered the same territory as fake japanese for me (i.e. it drives me batshit) since my close friend anna is russian and thanks to that, i know just enough (and more to the point, osmose her annoyance.)

not to stop you, because it looks cool, but those letters aren't analogus to the english ones. the "backwards R" is a vowel, for example.

And the zero is the letter O, well, at least on the keyboard. It had the line through it, the numeral did not.

I realize it's not right, nor real Russian. I just wanted to see what it looked like with the characters closest to the english counterparts.

Also, looking at it again, it does look pretty tacky when put into those terms.

Most of the characters in your callsign actually map straight across. The only one that really needs to change is the R, which should become a "P" (think capital rho). The C's are pronounced like English "S", but there isn't really an English "C" equivalent...
