Detailed strategy theory discussion on Ikaruga's chapter 2. Every other chapter of Ikaruga has a set number of enemies that come out at specific times. Chapter 2 however has "generators", which continually create new enemies. This doesn't seem like a big deal but when you're trying to get a high score and max chain it really is.

The strategic theory comes down to this, if you blow through the stage fast you get extra enemies at the end of the level. Slow down a bit and you can chain more generated enemies. What do you need to do to get the maximum benefit of both?
